I was born at RAF Cosford Hospital in 1968 and have lived in Albrighton all my life. At the age of 14, I started working weekends at Hudson’s Butchers. After leaving school at 16, I went to work in the house building industry and I am still in this line of work to the present day. I am now an experienced excavator operator with over twenty years experience in my field.
In my spare time I am a keen cyclist and love living in our community, and I am keen for Albrighton to remain a village.

I am the Shropshire and a parish councillor for Albrighton, elected in May 2021. I am married and have two grown up boys, who both attended St Mary’s primary from 1997 onwards when we moved into Boningale. I’ve just become a Granddad for a second time and we now have two beautiful granddaughters. As a youngster I moved around the country, as my father was a prison officer. I was used to service quarters and starting new schools, so can relate to service residents in the village. We settled down near Stafford, where we stayed until I joined the police in 1980. I stayed in service for 30 years, working in urban areas of the West Midlands. I have since worked as a supervisor for a home oxygen company and my final five working years as a Fabric Manager, (a supervising caretaker!) for a secondary Academy in Telford. My early retirement three years ago has provided the time to commit to the people of Albrighton via my councillor work and to a smaller extent voluntary work. My mother is experiencing the dementia journey and just starting the fight for the funding for her care home place.

I have lived in Albrighton for 46 years.

I became a Councillor in 1998 to help support the residents and to give a voice to residents whom felt unable to be heard. I have been a councillor for 25 years and I love it.

I have worked hard for the village, most notably were my endeavours to secure the Library building for the next 125 years. I worked with Shropshire Council and the Library Service and after much negotiation it was agreed that Albrighton Parish Council would be granted the lease. The building was refurbished and the Parish Council Office created. It was the right decision and the Library is well used. I officially opened the Library on the 18th of April 2016.

I have been Chairman of Albrighton Parish Council for three years, 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2021-2022 and vice-Chairman for two years.

I have always been actively involved with village life and support many of the local groups. I along with 3 other patients started the Albrighton Medical Practice Patients Group in 2001. I also support the Food Bank, and I started and run the Bereavement Support Group. I support Citizens Advice Shropshire (CAB) and each year raise funds to keep the service in Albrighton for all our residents.

I was a volunteer with victim support for over 10 years and trained to support victims of sexual assault, rape, and domestic violence and I supported families bereaved by murder and road deaths. I also ran the Telford Scheme for 4 years and also supported victims for their court appearances and I helped with their claims for the criminal compensation scheme.

I started volunteering when I was 11 years old by becoming the class rep secondary school. Then the course rep in further education college and course rep and social rep and organised the end of course balls etc. at teacher training college. I have volunteered ever since including the district swimming pool in Albrighton, PTA at all the schools my children attended and governor at New House Lane Primary School, Idsall School and teacher governor at Madeley Court School.

I have lived as part of this community and in Albrighton all my life. I was born at Cosford Hospital and attended Albrighton County Infants, Albrighton County Junior school and then Idsall.  I am married and have three children, and two grandchildren.
When I was younger, I was part of the Cosford Artistic Roller-Skating team from 1984 to 1995, where I was lucky to have represented Great Britain on multiple occasions at European and World Championships in this sport.
I became a Councillor at Albrighton Parish Council to volunteer and give back to the community I live in and want to make a positive contribution to the Albrighton, for present and future generations of Albrighton.
In my professional career I work as a Project Manager in IT, implementing and improving systems and processes for large national organisations. I recently purchased a 1970 VW early bay camper and enjoy attending festivals with my family.
I was elected as Chairman of Albrighton Parish Council in May 2022. One of my first duties during my term of office is to support Albrighton Foodbank as my Chairman’s Charity. I have pledged £100 of the Chairman’s allowance to kick start the collection of non perishable food items. The donation point has been set up in the Parish Office and Library for those who wish to donate non perishable items, all donations will be gratefully received.

I have lived in the Village of Albrighton since 1988.  I was born in Kent in 1950 (Romney Marsh). I moved to London at 16, later joined the merchant navy and after three years as a 1st

Class Silver waiter I joined the Royal Air Force and was a photographer for 24 years.  On leaving the RAF I joined Morris Springs at Ettingshall as a spring design engineer and retired after 18 years as their Sales Manager.

I have been married to my wife Sally for 50 years this year (2022).  I have three children who all attended the local schools, and I have 4 grandchildren.

I joined the Parish Council in 2021, it has always been my desire to work within the local community and make a difference within the community where I can.  I am currently the Chairman for the Albrighton War Memorial Restoration Project and sit on a number of Committees within the Parish Council.

I am an allotment holder at Albrighton Allotments, I am a committee member of The Melville Club, I am a local bell ringer, I am a Freemason in local Lodges and in my spare time I keep bees & help other beekeepers.
